Our signature soap, Batch Four
Batch Four is Australia’s only purpose designed 3 in 1 hand made natural soap. Its quick lathering ability makes it possible to use as a shampoo, while its silky feel is a suitable lubricant for shaving.
Our customers report that Batch Four feels like soap should. Our meticulously chosen ingredient ratios ensure big bubbles, a thick lather, and a luxurious glide.
Why is it called Batch Four?
It was the fourth recipe that I settled on while in the development and testing phase, which took place over 2 years. For an interesting fact, the soaps in our secondary logo are batches 1, 2, and 3.
What’s in our soap
COCONUT OIL: creates a protective moisturizing shield on your skin. It’s great for your hair. Contains vitamin E, amino acids, and lauric acid - all stuff your skin needs.
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL: has been used since the time of ancient Egypt. It helps soften the skin and is rich in antioxidants. It promotes healthier skin by reversing oxidation and repelling damage-causing free radicals.
SUNFLOWER OIL: contains vitamins A, D and E, and can help protect the skin against sun damage. Only the right amount gives the soap its silky feel.
CASTOR OIL: contains one of the most unique molecules in the world and is believed to be anti-bacterial and anti-viral. This ingredient also controls the amount of bubbles you get from the soap. And we love bubbles!
AUSTRALIAN WHITE CLAY: works to gently extract impurities from the skin, to balance and detoxify.
What’s not in our soap
SOAP BY SELLERS does not use any palm oil. Although, there is nothing inherently wrong with palm oil - it’s actually a pretty good oil for soap making - some countries where palm oil is harvested do not have very good forestry practices, and so I have adopted a blanket ban on it, in order to be sure to we can do our bit to protect precious environments.
SOAP BY SELLERS does not use any animal fat. So, we are 100% vegan friendly. And, because we do not come under the banner of therapeutic goods, you can be sure our products haven’t been tested on animals.
SOAP BY SELLERS does not use any coloring, or artificial substances such as sodium laureth sulfate, which is prevalent in shampoos and personal care items, and is just one of many possible causes of skin and eye irritation.
SOAP BY SELLERS is a zero plastic company. We do not use any plastic packaging on our products. This works well for our soap, since natural soap is best packaged loosely inside paper or cardboard. We even refrain from using microplastic grit in our Workshop Tough soap, instead opting for natural volcanic grit.
SOAP BY SELLERS does not use essential oil fragrances. Although, considered a natural product, there is not enough regulation on essential oils to deem them completely safe. Instead, Batch Four soap is lightly scented with phthalate free, gluten free, vegan friendly coconut and lime.

In the beginning…
When I began soapmaking I became aware of two characteristics of natural soap that I wanted to improve: 1, the sometimes slimy feel of natural soap containing soft oils, and 2, the exceedingly long cure time needed for soaps containing those oils.
I felt that there must be a better way to make soap, and I was determined to find it.
One night, in 2020, while studying a chemistry textbook, I had a ‘eureka’ moment. I immediately began working in a new direction.
The result is ‘Batch Four’, an all-natural, fast curing, luxury soap, that is non-greasy, gets you clean fast, and has 3 different uses!
With the perfect blend of science and nature, I have eliminated the oiliness asociated with natural soap, and created a harder, more pleasant feeling soap bar, that still retains the longer fatty acid chains associated with skin protection and cvitality. It’s soap made the way our forefathers made it - only better!
It is the unique time and temperature sensitive process, combined with meticulously selected ingredient ratios, that makes our soap the most versatile, effective and luxurious natural soap possible.
It is by this secret process that SOAP BY SELLERS was born.
